M-bus connects the Wired Remote Transmission Meter Reading System with the host engine (concentrator and collector) which is capable of storing data and communicating. The automatic reading platform firstly sends orders of centralized collecting via public network. And then the main reading engine collects water data and sends it back to the data base. Next the data collected is displayed on the automatic reading platform. This is the whole press of automatic meter reading.
a) The host engine (collector) needs power supply (220V). Water meter works without power supply at usual. However, remote automatic reading could only be processed through instant charging of water meters via M-Bus to collect data, which is convenient, fast, and accurate. It could also control the operation state of water meters online. What’s more, sensors like the pressure sensor could be connected to the M-Bus as required.
b) Wired construction is needed (roads among buildings would be broken to install water meters).
c) Places for main engine installation should be covered by communication signals.
d) Extremely applicable for household water meters installation in communities
The Wireless Remote Transmission Meter Reading System is to transmit water data via wireless communication. The main features of it are as follows:
a) The water meter is equipped with battery. No exterior power supply is demanded.
b) Installation is convenient without wiring and construction.
c) Water meters should be installed in places covered by signals.
d) It is suitable for communities where electric power is rare or inconvenient for wiring. It also applies to outdoor installation of large-diameter water meters.
